Life Story:
Herbert, youngest son of Joseph and Ellen and younger brother to George Lublin was a watchmaker.  He worked from Oxford Terrace in Christchurch.
The day before he died he’d been fishing with his older brother but on return there were no concerns about his health.  Both brothers seem to have lived at their father’s house in Berry Street, Sumner as George woke at 3am to hear Herbert gasping and “before help could be obtained the young man was dead.”
The Star (Issue 7294, 06/01/1902, p3) reported that Herbert had been unwell and under doctors Ovenden and Townend who had previously diagnosed Herbert having a weak heart.
