Bringing Linwood Cemetery Alive!

Commemoration of Service Personnel Remembered in Linwood Cemetery – Sunday 23rd April 2017 (11am-12.30pm)

25th-april-2011-007_640x480Linwood Cemetery, Christchurch is a public cemetery and is not designated as a Services Cemetery, yet there are over 310 services personnel commemorated in it.  Join us on the Sunday before ANZAC Day, in sombre remembrance of those who gave to our country with a special focus this year on the Ypres/Paaschendaele 1917 Campaign .  This, now annual event, commemorates those people who gave their lives or their youth for our freedom and ensures that they are remembered at least once a year. Follow directions from Butterfield Avenue Car Park.  Dress warmly and bring a chair, blanket and umbrella if needed.  The event ends with a piped lament and the playing of the Last Post. For more details e-mail us
Working Bees / Kids Fest – These have been suspended until further notice due to lack of person resources.
Heritage Week October/November  2017 – Richard Greenaway is planning to hold his usual tour of the cemetery.
